Welcome to the Ilda Clippers Summer 2026 Swim Season!

    Hello Clippers Families,

Welcome to the Summer 2026 swim season! We are incredibly excited to get back in the water and look forward to a fantastic summer of fast swimming and fun team traditions.

Below are the key details, updates, and schedule items you need to know as we gear up for the season.

    **Coaching Staff Updates**

We are thrilled to announce that our Head Coach, Maura Fay, will be returning to lead the team this season. Joining Maura on deck is our new Assistant Head Coach, Will Collins. Will is a current college swimmer, a Woodson High School alumnus, and grew up swimming right next door in the NVSL with the Canterbury Woods C-Serpents. Please join us in giving Will a warm welcome to the team! If your high school age swimmer is interested in being a Junior Assistant Coach, please ask them to fill out this form: https://forms.gle/DEcLDg3H9JbPbjg6A

    **Afternoon Practice Schedule**

Our afternoon practices will begin on Thursday, May 28th. We are starting a bit later this year because FCPS has scheduled student holidays on the Tuesday and Wednesday following Memorial Day.

Our afternoon practice groups and times are as follows:
    • 13 & Over: 4:00 PM – 4:45 PM
    • 9–12: 4:45 PM – 5:30 PM
    • 8 & Under: 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Please note that there will be no practice on Wednesday, June 17th, which is the last day of the FCPS school year. Morning practices for the swim team start Thursday, June 18th. The Little Clips developmental program will officially begin on Monday, June 22nd.

**Parent Meeting & Pizza Party Fundraiser: Friday, May 29th**

Please join us for our annual Parent Meeting on Friday, May 29th at 6:00 PM at the pool pavilion. This will be an in-person meeting only, but all informational materials presented will be posted to the team website afterward.

A Pizza Party Fundraiser will take place concurrently with the parent meeting. We are looking for a volunteer to pick up the pre-ordered pizzas from Costco, Domino's, or Paisano's that afternoon. If you can assist, just reply to this email and let me know.

The Dive Team will also host an informational session at the pavilion directly following the swim meeting. If your swimmer has any interest in diving, we highly recommend staying to meet the new dive coach and watch our talented divers demonstrate their skills. As a reminder, anyone can practice with the dive team for free until June 12th, so it's a great opportunity to try it out!

    **Volunteer Opportunities: We Need You!**
A successful swim season relies entirely on our amazing parent volunteers. Please start thinking about how you would like to contribute this year. We are currently looking for key individuals to step into the following critical roles:
    • Chief Timer in Training: Learn from the best so you're ready for next summer!
    • Meet Setup Guru: Supervise getting the pool deck ready for our home competitions.
    • End-of-Season Banquet Coordinator: Plan our final celebration.
    • Swim-a-Thon Coordinator: Organize one of our favorite mid-season events.
    • Team Breakfast Coordinator: Plan and execute 2 or 3 fun team breakfast events throughout the summer.

If you are interested in officiating this season, please reach out to our Officiating Coordinator, Shannon Springfield, at [email protected]. You can also view the upcoming NVSL training schedule on the NVSL calendar at https://www.mynvsl.com/calendar.

    **Swimsuits**

See the attached flyer for information about purchasing a team swimsuit in person or online.

    **Join us on Facebook**

We have a Facebook Group.  This is the best place to ask questions, sell/donate old apparel, and post pictures.

Thank you all for your continued support, and we will see you at the pool very soon!
