Good morning,  

We are excited to welcome our new dive team head coach, Lauren Hargnett. Lauren has a very strong diving and coaching background. We look forward to her helping new divers learn the basics and experienced divers improve their skills.

Lauren has been diving since age 11. She competed in high school dive and club dive at UNC, Duke, and NC State. She is now a junior at George Mason and a member of their dive team.

She has been teaching “Recreational Diving” beginner and intermediate classes at Oakmont Rec Center for the past several years. She has also taught private lessons to give divers that “extra push” to learn new dives or perfect their current dives. Last summer, she was the head coach of the NVSL Annandale Dive Team and comes highly recommended by their dive team reps, particularly for her work with new divers. She worked closely with her George Mason coach to develop training plans and intends to do so again this summer.
